Interviews with the SHS Staff

The Goddess interviews HymnToLife distroer at SHS

uniquec: Today, we bring to you HymnToLife who is a member of Shinsen Subs distro team on this installment of the Goddess' interviews.

uniquec: So have time to do your interview?

HymnToLife: I guess so.

uniquec: Or you dont want to do one since you sound so enthusiatic about it.

HymnToLife: Sure I do, why not? Or did you expect me to go "Yay" all around the place ? :p

uniquec: Lol, maybe :) Just kidding.

uniquec: Ok then, what do you do?

HymnToLife: Distroing, mostly and also goofing around in the staff and recruits channels.

HymnToLife: Oh, and I'm encoding something that should be released soon too.

uniquec: Stretching your skills.

uniquec: So who do you distro for?

HymnToLife: oh, so you meant in general and not only for Shinsen ? :p

uniquec: All.

HymnToLife: For other groups I also encode on a regular basis, and I do English to French TL.

uniquec: Although it will end up on SHS section of the interviews :)

HymnToLife: And some TS every now and then.

uniquec: Why did you decide to get into fansubbing?

HymnToLife: Obviously because I like anime, so I watched a lot of fansubs, and one day I decided to actually get involved in making stuff. I thought it would be kind of fun and yeah, for the most part it is.

uniquec: How much fun is it?:)

HymnToLife: Very much. Most older fansubbers I know say the fun eventually wears out, but so far it hasn't for me.

uniquec: So how long have you been in the business?

HymnToLife: About three years.

uniquec: Who would you want to be stranded on a desert island with?

HymnToLife: Does it have to be only one person?

uniquec: Usually but then what two then?

HymnToLife: Two, I'd say my mother and sister, I can't think of any single person (yes, I'm single :p).

uniquec: How about staff?

HymnToLife: I'd say Asa, so she can teach me proper English :p uniquec: Heh so what are your hobbies outside anime?

HymnToLife: I'm quite the geeky type, so I like playing around with computers (programming, managing servers, that kind of stuff), and I also read a lot.

HymnToLife: That's pretty much about it, I also used to be a huge music guy before shit happened :p

uniquec: What do you enjoy reading?

HymnToLife: To that kind of questions, I usually answer "good stuff", meaning that I don't have a particular type of books I enjoy reading. For example, I'm not into SF and Fantasy as much as others, though I do ejoy it every now and then but some people seem to only read that, which I think is really dumb.

uniquec: Variety.

uniquec: Where would you like to travel to but never been?

HymnToLife: I know it will sound cliche, but Japan. I've already visited pretty much all of Europe, and the US don't appeal that much to me.

uniquec: Any particular place in Japan?

HymnToLife:Not really, I guess I'll start wondering what I could visit once I get there.

uniquec: Where would you recomend visiting that you been to?

HymnToLife: I guess it depends what you're interested in. Of all the cities I've visited, the one I enjoyed the most was Dublin.

uniquec: What is it about Dublin that you would recomend?

HymnToLife: We had a class trip there the week of St. Patrick's day, so there was a very feisty and friendly atmophere in the whole city, which was pretty nice.

HymnToLife: Of course it has nice monuments and stuff like that too, but every city has its own.

uniquec: Nothing like visiting Dublin on St. Patrick's day, I can imagine. So what is your favourite food?

HymnToLife: Pizza.

uniquec: What do you like on your pizza?

HymnToLife: I totally saw that coming. :p Well, once again, "good stuff" ^^ That being said, I especially like spicy stuff, so chorizo (a kind of Spanish sausage close to the north american "pepperoni") and Cayenne pepper usually make me happy.

uniquec: You like hot foods?

HymnToLife: yes, I guess it comes from my partly North-African blood :p

uniquec: What food you hate then?

HymnToLife: Like anyone in his right mind, I hate spinach and the like, but that's pretty much about it.

HymnToLife: There's other stuff I'm not particularly fond of, but not to the point of hating it.

uniquec: You dont detest it that badly. What would you like to do but never done?

HymnToLife: Meet up with the other SHS folks, I'm sure it's very fun when you put all those people in the same place :p

uniquec: You think they will be able to survive together?

HymnToLife: No idea. I guess finding that out would be part of the fun.

uniquec: Have you met any of them?

HymnToLife: No.

uniquec: Who would you want to meet the most and why?

HymnToLife: As I said, the SHS folks would only be fun put together, so if it has to be one person, I'd say Theo de Raadt, just so I could pat him on the back and tell him "You rock, man".

uniquec: Heh. How do you see yourself 20 years from now?

HymnToLife: Absolutely no idea, and I prefer not to think about it.

uniquec: You don't want to think that far ahead. Favourite colour?

HymnToLife: Blue.

uniquec: Dark, medium, light blue?

HymnToLife: Light, #BBDDFF.

uniquec: Lol.

uniquec: Innie or outie?

HymnToLife: Innie :)

uniquec: You aren't a weirdo like Vincent. :) Boxers or briefs?

HymnToLife: Boxers, unless I have no clean ones left and am too lazy to go to the laundry.

uniquec: Do you enjoy doing laundry?

HymnToLife: I don't mind it, I hate doing the dishes more, for example.

uniquec: What is you favourite type of music?

HymnToLife: Hehehe, once again, "good music" :p

HymnToLife: You can find it in each and every type.

uniquec: Heh none that you dislike more than another?

HymnToLife: there are very few techno artists I like, for example, but they exist, so I don't like saying "I hate techno", period.

uniquec: Would you consider yourself and optimist or pessimist?

HymnToLife: A little bit of both, depending on the day :p More of a pessimist I think.

uniquec: Introvert or extrovert?

HymnToLife: introvert, very much.

uniquec: How so?

HymnToLife: I'm alone most of the time, not because I especially like it but for a reason I won't talk about here (though it's not hard to find it out if you really want to know).

uniquec: Alright, we wont pry in the interview. What is the one thing is the most precious to you?

HymnToLife: I don't really have any, there are a few people that are precious to me (family and very few close friends), but no objects.

uniquec: You aren't materialistic?

HymnToLife: I am, very much, I just don't happen to have any object with enough sentimental value to consider it "precious", in the sense that losing it would make me really sad.

uniquec: What would you like to be remeber for after your death?

HymnToLife: For being kind and generous to the people I loved.

uniquec: If there is one thing what you could change about yourself, what would it be?

HymnToLife: My DNA :p

uniquec: Lol.

uniquec: What is an ideal day for you?

HymnToLife: A day uniquec: Only 6 hours?:p

HymnToLife: Yeah, even that tends to get boring after a while.

uniquec: What do you enjoy most of CS classes?

HymnToLife: It's very fun. I guess the fact that it's something I'm good at :p

uniquec: What would like others to know about you that they might not know?

HymnToLife: I really can't think of anything, there's not much interesting stuff to know about me, and all of it has already been covered.

uniquec: Ok parting words of wisdom?

HymnToLife: Slash will hate me if I don't say it so there: we distro people don't see a cent of the donations made through the main page, if you love the bots, please consider donating to us (Slash and myself have paypal accounts, you can msg us for them).

uniquec: We would like to thank HymnToLife for doing the interview in between distroing.
